Principal's Corner

Welcome to Littlerock Elementary! My name is Dr. Tamara York, and I am honored to serve as the principal of this incredible school community.

I have spent my career dedicated to education, leadership, and student success. Before becoming a principal, I worked extensively in education, including 13 years overseas, where I focused on building strong learning communities. My experiences have shaped my belief that every student deserves a supportive, engaging, and equitable learning environment where they can thrive. At LRE, I am committed to fostering a culture of academic excellence, inclusion, and meaningful relationships between students, staff, and families.

Being a principal is more than just a job for me—it’s a calling. I love the energy of our students, the dedication of our teachers, and the partnership we build with families. Watching students grow in confidence, curiosity, and character is the most rewarding part of my work. Whether it’s celebrating their achievements, problem-solving challenges, or simply greeting them each morning, I cherish every opportunity to support our Tigers on their learning journey.

Outside of school, my greatest joy is my family. I have a husband and two wonderful children, who remind me daily of the importance of curiosity, resilience, and kindness. As a family, we love traveling, exploring the outdoors, and discovering new adventures.

I am grateful to be part of the LRE community and look forward to partnering with you to make this school the best it can be for every student.
